Senior Software Engineer

Location: Remote - Open to Latin American Candidates Overview of the Role: We are looking for an experienced and proven Senior Software Engineer that not only has full-stack software development experience, but also has experience managing the dev team and architecting the solution from the ground up. This includes planning the different features for the project and integrating them into

o a functioning system, while ensuring a scalable, efficient, and high-performing infrastructure is in place to support these features. As we are about ready to embark on the creation of our new Big Data platform, this position will help us tackle some big projects and work on getting data in and out of our environment.
 
As part of the team, you will:
-Make strategic software, resourcing, design, re-design and optimization recommendations
-Locate and direct solutions for critical challenges involving software and hardware interface
-Lead end-to-end enterprise software engineering design, research and inspections, including native mobile application development, web development, back-end APIs, database (design, scale, data access, security), authorization, tracking & monitoring,  ensuring solutions are scalable, secure and maintainable
-Work collaboratively with program management to translate business and end-user requirements into software product designs
-Create and document high quality coding standards and drive code reviews
-Participate in all phases of agile delivery (e-g. estimating, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, breaking down stories into technical tasks/requirements, etc.)
-Code, debug and resolve software defects in the various products and services
-Lead by example to drive a culture of engineering excellence and to mentor junior team members
Key qualifications and Skills to succeed in this role: 
-7 - 10 years experience writing APIs in Java or C#
-5+ years experience with a modern JavaScript framework (React-JS)
-5+ years experience with SQL Server
-Experience with SOA/web services, REST, JSON, XML, APIs
-Experience writing, reviewing and documenting code
-Substantial knowledge in security concepts and experience with secure code development techniques
-Familiarity with Agile methodologies and principles
-Familiarity with DevOps practices (Continuous Integration/ Delivery/ Monitoring/etc.)
-Familiarity with Azure
-Familiarity with Bitbucket/Git
-Highly analytical mindset
Desirable Skills:
-Experience with Big Data
-Experience with EDI
-Experience with grocery retail/foodservice/pharmaceutical industry and supply chain
